Last Thursday eight of our troupe set out for Flinton to entertain at a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. A drive of 90 minutes brought us to a picturesque little village with a large and welcoming community centre full of enthusiastic volunteers. We were treated to a truly delicious roast beef dinner with homemade desserts. It is a wonder we could perform with such full tummies. Perform we did to an appreciative and forgiving audience who laughed at our recoveries of the odd lost word here and there. Fun was had by all. Again our Betsy stole the show during our last skit with the loud query “What am I supposed to do?” Often it seems our senior brains take a time-out only to jump start into these opportunities for creativity. Many thanks to our hosts who were all so friendly and understanding. Another adventure and more to come. Remember to smile at the world and it will smile back at you. . . . I forgot to mention Doug’s intro that warmed up the audience and raised the energy level of everyone. Well done.
